The Panasonic SC-DM3 Home Theater System brings DVD-Audio/Video enjoyment to a den, bedroom, or other room where space is a consideration. It includes components that are all acoustically matched for optimum performance and include all the wires and connections needed for easy set up. The SC-DM3 includes a super-slim receiver that can be placed vertically next to your TV or positioned horizontally on a bookshelf. The unit "senses" how it is sitting and then automatically rotates the LCD to fit its vertical or horizontal orientation. Despite its diminutive stature, the SC-DM3 package's robust built-in amplifier can deliver the full benefits of 5.1-channel surround from DVDs or digital satellite broadcasts.
It comes with five 4.25-inch tall satellite speakers and one subwoofer for 5.1-channel surround sound. This system features the following power ratings: 15 watts for the left-and right-front speakers, 45 watts for the center channel, 20 watts for each of the surround speakers, and 55 watts for the subwoofer.

The progressive scan DVD player features compatibility with DVD-Audio discs (for optimal 5.1-channel surround sound) as well as standard DVD movie and CD music discs, DVD-R, CD-R/RW, and VCD. It offers such playback features as frame advance (forward and reverse), cinema mode, still picture display, and dialog enhancer. It offers 1 composite and 1 S-Video output connections.
